The Seton – La Salle girls softball team is predicted to have a successful 2013- 2014 year. In past years, the team has done extremely well during the regular season, but hasn’t made it to the WPIAL championship yet. This year, the team hopes to not only go undefeated during the regular season, but to also win WPIAL’s and go onto the State Playoffs.
Senior Danielle Merlina states, “In the back of our minds we know we fell short in the playoffs in past years, so this year we plan to go further and are working hard to do it.”
Coach Jay Krull pushes the girls to work hard and set goals for themselves individually, and as a team. Junior Kaylee Boehme states, “Our team is gaining so much confidence and works so hard not only during the season, but also during the off season. I am very excited for this year and to succeed in the playoffs.”
Junior Lauren Zola, Seton – La Salle’s pitcher, should lead the team to many wins with her tremendous pitching and determination. The team has also gained another experienced pitcher, Julie Curry, who is predicted to have a large impact on the team with not only her pitching, but also her bat. The team plans to carry their success from last year onto this year and to take it even further.
