SLSHS and Catholic Relief Services

Catholic Relief Services is a global charity that provides humanitarian aid and relief to the neediest people all over the world. They were founded in 1943 by several US Bishops. They are at work in over 90 countries around the world. Over 95% of their proceeds are used for various programs, while less than a measly 5% is used for fundraising, management, awareness, and other assorted costs (3% for fundraising and 2% for administration costs). “Assistance provided by CRS is based solely on need, not race, creed or nationality.”
Their main goals:
“Emergency relief in the wake of disasters and civil conflict” and “Long-term development programming in the areas of agriculture, community health, education, health, HIV/AIDS, micro finance and peace building.”
