THE END IS NEAR! that is the school year, and what better way to go out with a bang then a jam session from The Guitar Rebels. May 8th, 2014 there will be the first ever Rebel Jam performance at Seton La-Salle High School at 7:00PM. Tickets will cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.
Senior Dylan Bornschlegel, a member of Guitar Rebels, has been preparing for the show. “Well, Mr. Bowen wanted to get the show together in time for the end of the last school year, but it didn’t work out. So we have been working hard all throughout the 2013-14 school year preparing long and hard for this show. It’s gonna be good!”
Bornschlegel says “I’ve been playing guitar for about 4 years. I started the first week of my freshman year of high school and after playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band over and over, I realized I wanted to play the real guitar because I wanted to be like Billy Joel Armstrong. He’s the one I look up to. It also seemed very fun and interesting.”
Senior Anthony Yauch has already performed in two talent shows throughout the state and at the county fair. Before every performance, Yauch says, “I watch my favorite bands perform and try to mimic the fun that they are having on stage.”
This performance means a lot to all of the students, but it is especially significant for graduating Seniors. Bornschlegel says, “It means so much. I’m filled with emotions. Since it’s my last performance here I want to go out with and bang and I’m sure this show will do so. It’s full of amazing and talented people, so I think its going to go really well. I can’t wait and hope a lot of people come out to see us.”
“It means a lot to me. It’s my last show on the SLS stage and I’m glad I get to do it with Seton’s greatest group of musicians and with my role model for music, Mr. Bowen,” said Yauch.
This first annual ‘Rebel Jam’ will feature musical talent from the Seton – La Salle community, including Trebels, our acapella group, Guitar Rebels, In Shambles, a talented musical trio, and Burlap Road, a professional band featuring English teacher, Charles Bowen.
A great amount of heart and passion going into this show especially for the seniors, so don’t forget May 8th at 7:00 in the SLSHS auditorium – The First Annual Rebel Jam!
Don’t miss it. It’s going to be a phenomenal show.
