This spring, Seton – La Salle is proud to present the ever so popular musical Pippin, directed by our very own Mrs. Valerie Gigliotti. Cast members this year are excited and ready to perform, and are looking forward to the upcoming week.

The story line is a about Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and importance. Pippin will be played by junior Tom Kalnas, who has been a part of two SLS musicals thus far- Bye Bye Birdie and South Pacific. “This musical is going to turn out pretty solid, it will hopefully be worth the ticket price…” says Tom. “In every musical I’ve been in so far, I’ve had one or two very difficult things to do, and I’m looking forward to see how they turn out this year.

Senior Emily Zielinski will be playing Fastrada, the step-mother who plots to get her son to be the heir to the throne instead of Pippin. Emily’s been involved in plays Marriage of 4 Act Plays, The Crucible, The Canterville Ghost, and musicals Bye Bye Birdie, South Pacific, and now Pippin. “We’re all excited about it and have been working really hard,” says Emily.  I’m looking forward to opening night on the 23rd!”

Another cast member, junior Emily Hutchinson, who has been involved with Bye Bye Birdie and South Pacific, and is now part of the ensemble of Pippin added, “The songs are really fun and weird! At first, I was skeptical about doing Pippin, but I think we’re going to own it… definitely come see it!”

The performance times are March 23rd, 24th, 30th, and 31st at 7:30 pm at the SLS auditorium, and ticket prices are $8.00 a person. Make sure to bring your friends and family. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Seton – La Salle performances are something one doesn’t forget!

  1. I’ve loved Pippin all 7 times I’ve seen it so far from my lovely position in the balcony. The silly parts still crack me up & the creepy parts still send shivers down my spine. Two more shows!
