With every change of season also comes a change of style. It is out with the old and in with the new. The question is whether to splurge or save on these trends. That answer depends on if the trend will last into spring.
The first style trend is color blocking. Color blocking is taking two solid colors and putting them next to each other. This is done in various articles of clothes from shoes to pants.
Splurge: Diesal black gold skirt $270 store.diesal.com
Save: Jaclyn Smith for kmart sweater $25 kmart.com.
Splurge: cashmere cable knit sweater $198 bananarepublic.gap.com
Save: womens waffle knit sweater $29.94 oldnavy.gap.com.
Save on these sweaters because they will only stay around for fall of 2012.
The oversized sweaters look great with another popular trend, riding boots. These boots are no longer being worn by horse riders. They can be found in every mall or clothing store. They come in black and brown.
Splurge: Frye back zip up boots $367.95 nordstroms.com
Save: women’s Merona buckle boot $31.99 target.com
Saving would be a shopper’s best idea because you want more than one pair of these, one black and one brown pair.
Prints are also a popular trend this fall. Prints were also very popular during the summer.
Splurge: JCrew pants $298
Save: floral print pants $22.80 forever21.com.
For this trend splurging and saving is a great idea because it seems to stand the test of time and has been popular for quite some time.
Along with those new trends for fall of 2012 there is also some old ones that are still popular. Scarves are a great accessory that can go with any fall outfit. UGG boots are also a popular trend for fall and winter. You don’t want to be caught wearing an old trend!
