Bucco Fever

The Pirates are 15-9 and are first in their division and the students here are really starting to notice.

“It’s great to see them actually doing well for a change.” said senior, Brendan Donovan.

The Pirates are recently coming off of a 9 game homestand in which they went 7-2 including taking 3 out of 4 games from Major League baseball’s best team the Atlanta Braves.

Seton’s biggest Bucco fanatic, Andrew Staiger, was asked why he thinks the Pirates are doing so well. He said, “One of the biggest reasons is their bullpen.”

The facts definitely show that he is absolutely correct about that. The Pirates have the number one ranked bullpen in the Majors. Their bullpen is leading the league in ERA and they are tied for the most amount of saves in the league.

“In all of my years of living I have never seen them have a winning season so it’d be cool to see it finally happen this year.” said senior, Julia Rodaitis.

The last time the Pirates had a winning season was in 1992, 20 seasons ago. Most of the seniors here were born in 1994 or 1995 and never got to experience what it is like to have a winning baseball team in Pittsburgh.

It Is great to see so many people getting excited about the Pirates. All we can do now is hope and pray that they keep this up.
