Come out to the Peterson Event Center tonight at 9pm to watch the boys’ compete against Lincoln Park for the 3A WPIAL Boys’ Basketball Championship.
The Seton LaSalle boy’s basketball team has experienced a great deal of success this season largely due to the outstanding play and leadership of the seniors. The seniors make up every position in the varsity starting lineup. The Rebels are undefeated in section and are making a run deep into the WPIAL playoffs.
The seniors were asked about their goals for the rest of the season and forward Jakob Richardson responded with three simple steps “Win the WPIAL championship, qualify for states, and win states.”
When asked about how their mentality changed between this year and last year forward George Mike IV said “It’s my last year of high school, so I have to win it all.”
The seniors are a diverse group of guys who have many different plans after they complete high school. Guard Nicholas Deans would like to further his education by attending college.
Jakob Richardson plans on continuing his basketball career after high school stating “I want to go to college and play college basketball.”
All of the seniors seem to have had a great time playing basketball, so when asked what they would miss most about Seton LaSalle basketball George Mike IV responded “I’m going to miss my teammates and wearing the jersey.”
“Playing with my friends.” Says Nicholas Deans.
Jakob Richardson answered “Relationships I had with my teammates”
Finally the seniors were asked about their favorite memory of Seton LaSalle basketball George Mike IV took no time at all to answer “Hitting the game winner against Canevin my sophomore year.”
Jakob Richardson responded with “Beating North Catholic twice this year”
Nicholas Deans remembers “My sophomore year when I came off the bench and hit 4 threes in a playoff game.”
