Arsenic and Old Lace, the Fall Drama for 2017, is taking place on November 11th-12th. It’s a clever comedy, with Ed Rosenbusch as director and Taylor Gigliotti as Stage Crew Director. Carmen Wilson (12) says the show is about “two spinster sisters who have a bad habit of poisoning old men.”
The entire cast is very excited for opening night. Much of this excitement is because of Mr.Rosenbusch, who took over as director this year. Through practices, Mr. Rosenbusch has created a very positive environment.
Rehearsals have run smoothly, and the cast is hopeful that the show will be a rousing success. At the time of this article, tech week has officially begun. Putting on any show is a lot of work, but the talented cast and crew of Arsenic and Old Lace is ready to put in that work and entertain the school.
The cast this year is bigger than shows in the past, with many freshman trying out and taking part in this year’s show. Freshman Bella Martino said “Fall Drama has helped me grow as an actress, and the large cast has made me feel extremely welcome. I can’t wait for the coming years.”
Ellie Quinlan (10) joined the cast this year, she describes her experience so far as “I haven’t actually done much yet but we’re getting there, and what I have done has been fun.”
Every great show has a great crew behind the scenes, and Arsenic and Old Lace is no different. Ellie Sgro (12) has been in crew for 3 years, and loves how the different members of stage crew use their individual strengths to finish a project that’s bigger than any individual could accomplish. Sgro thinks that everyone is going to be impressed this year, and that the stage shows off all the hard work they have done.
Arsenic and Old Lace is set to be a great show, and if there’s one thing that every member of it can agree on, it’s that everyone should come.
